Reina's Solo Mission

Old Lady Haruka studied the scroll for several minutes. Finally she nodded as if she had seen something that she had been looking for. "This is much better," she said to Setsuna. Then she faced Reina. "Thank you. You've completed your mission. Would you like some tea?" she asked politely. Reina knew it would be impolite to say no so she accepted.

Old Lady Haruka smiled. She motioned for Setsuna to come with her and left the room. Reina followed behind them. After a few seconds they reached a room that resembled the one they had just left. Reina and Setsuna quickly sat on the right side of the table as was polite. Reina knelt again with her knees underneath her. She looked pointedly at Setsuna and she quickly knelt too. Old Lady Haruka gracefully set three tea cups on the table.

Old Lady Haruka held an old tea pot carefully in her left hand. She tilted her wrist and poured the tea into Reina's cup. Reina gave a slight bow to show her appreciation. Then Old Lady Haruka turned to Setsuna and poured her tea. Setsuna mimicked Reina and bowed, alebeit clumbsily. Last Old Lady Haruka poured her own tea. Reina daintily lifted the cup to her mouth and took a small sip. She set the cup down making sure that the design was facing Old Lady Haruka.

Reina complimented Old Lady Haruka on her tea making skills. They all talked politely for a few minutes. Then there was a knock on the front door. Reina hadn't known they were so close to the front of the house. Old Lady Haruka gracefully excused herself and left the room, presumably to answer the door. Setsuna who had been silent most of the time turned to Reina. "Thank you for helping me today Reina-nee-chan."

Reina almost jumped in shock, why was Setsuna calling her -nee-chan? She nodded quickly too flustered to answer Setsuna. Then they sat there in silence as Reina pondered this new development. Old Lady Haruka came into the room and quickly explained who had knocked on her door. "Reina-san your sensei is here for you." Reina thanked her for the tea and stood up. Then she noticed Setsuna staring forlornly at her. She paused and then said, "Keep working on your caligraphy and you'll do fine, Setsuna-nee-san."

Setsuna grinned brightly at Reina and nodded enthusiastically. Then Reina walked out into the hallway. Old Lady Haruka lead her to the front hallway where her sensei was. Old Lady Haruka bowed to them and then walked back towards Setsuna. Reina greeted her sensei and then waited unsure of what he would do. Her sensei smiled openly and said, "I heard you did a good job with your first mission." Reina nodded quickly. "It was easy, more of a chore than a mission," she said.

Her sensei laughed and them motioned to the door. Reina walked outside with her sensei following close behind. She waited to see where he would go. He started walking towards the Hyuuga district so Reina duitifully followed. As they walked her sensei asked her question about the mission. When Reina saw the high wall that seperated the Hyuuga land from the rest of Konoha they stopped. Her sensei quickly told her that her reward for completing her mission was that she wouldn't have a mission tommorow. He laughed loudly after saying this.

Reina grumbled but didn't complain. "Are we meeting tommorow?" she asked her sensei. He said yes and then told her that he'd contact her later. Then he waved good bye and poofed away. Reina stared at the spot he had been standing in for a few seconds. Then she turned around and walked into the Hyuuga district. She navigated her way past the branch family houses and finally made it to the main family's compound. She shot a quick glance up at the sky and saw that the sun was just setting.

Reina sighed. If she hurried she might still make dinner in time. She decided she really didn't want people subtly insulting her for the next week. So she rushed to her room and changed. Then she made her way to the dining room, she heard voices but it didn't sound like dinner had started yet. She took a deep breath and composed herself before sliding open the door and entering the room. Several people stared at her and the room went silent until she sat down in her designated place. Then the conversations started up again.

Reina's cousin glanced at her as if to warn her. When all the main family had arrived dinner finally began. All of the quiet conversations that had been going on stopped. Then the head of the clan, looked at her and said, "I heard you had your first mission today." He said it like it was a question. So Reina said yes and gave a breif summary of her mission. He nodded in satisfaction, "Continue being an asset to the Hyuuga name." Reina nodded.

OOC - Just in case anyone reads this. I don't know anything about calligraphy or tea ceremonies or anything like that.
